If I click on the folder I get the message "Initializing Capture" but after a while I get the message "Creation of Video Preview Failed. The camcorder is listed as an AVC Compliant DV Camcorder. I have also tried to connect using Windows Explorer. The message differs depending on what software I am using but is ammounts to "Unable to connect to the video device". When I connect the software tells me it is connected and it recognises the camcorder as a JVC, the capture process begins, the tape rewinds, the camcorder begins to play the tape, I can view the images on the camcorder display but the computer fails to complete the capture and no images are displayed in the capture window of the software.Īfter a while the software times out and I get an error message. I have tried with Videowave 3 and Windows Movie Maker software. I am having problems with video capture using a JVC GR-D20EK camcorder with a Firewire Cardbus Adaptor (IEEE 1394) to my Laptop running Windows XP, lots of RAM and diskspace.
