Reliance Jio uses Bands 3(1800MHz FDD), 5(850MHz FDD) and 40(2300MHz TDD). Band 3 ( 1800MHz) is primarily used for 4G coverage in India, as the spectrum was already in use during the 2G era.
Low-frequency bands offer a wider range and are unaffected by buildings, whereas higher frequency bands such as 2300MHz can transfer more bandwidth over a smaller area. The year 2016 will be the year of 4G in India. Reliance Jio has the best 4G coverage in India, but Airtel’s the fastest Operator Short for “Long Term Evolution”, it’s slower than “true” 4G, but significantly faster than 3G, which originally had data rates measured in kilobits per second, rather than megabits per second. LTE, sometimes known as 4G LTE, is a type of 4G technology. Jio owns spectrum in 850 MHz and 1,800 MHz bands in India’s 22 circles, and also owns pan-India licensed 2,300 MHz spectrum. Airtel is second at 90.0%, followed by Vodafone (84.6%) and Idea (82.8%). That means that a Jio customer has access to LTE service at 98.8% of surveyed locations. LTE connections, while widely available in much of India, depend heavily on which mobile operator a consumer has chosen.
